Heather Halliday, MEd., RCC, CCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Heather Halliday is passionate about personal development. She brings this passion into her counselling work. She believes that everyone has their own answers within, but that sometimes they need a little guidance to find them. Working from a client centered collaborative approach, Heather uses a variety of interventions and strategies to assist clients to find their own resolutions.
When you meet with Heather she will assess the problem, look at your own individual needs and help you develop a plan on how to proceed. This plan could include education, increasing self-awareness, skill building, emotional development… and perhaps a little bit of fun. It may also include connecting you with other community resources to provide additional support. Living and working in the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows has provided Heather with a wide breadth of knowledge about these resources.
Her extensive experience in the social service sector has given her solid expertise regarding issues, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, grief and loss, communication, boundaries, women’s issues, sexual abuse, parenting, and relationship concerns. She works with individuals, youth, couples and families.
Personally, Heather is the mom of two young adults and step mom to a younger child. She has experienced firsthand both the joys and struggles of raising children. Heather enjoys yoga, the outdoors, and her furry friends. She thrives on the never ending learning that life provides and strives to have healthy balance in her life. She has learned to embrace imperfection and tolerate the unpredictability that life brings.
Heather is a private practice Clinical Counsellor. She is registered with the Crime Victim Assistance Program of BC. Furthermore, some extended health plans cover the cost of a Clinical Counsellor.
